If there one’s thing I’m sure of in life, it’s that great eyebrows can completely transform your face from good to fabulous. I started filling in my brows probably about 3-4 years ago. I already have kind of thick brows, but I just like it so much better when they’re “naturally” full and filled in (BUT not like “I just drew my eyebrows with a sharpie marker” filled in). I really think it completes any makeup look.
My brows were probably the last thing I switched to when transitioning to toxin-free makeup because 1) it was a small surface area on my face and 2) I really liked the eyebrow filler I was using… BUT, have no fear… I’m listing some of the best “clean” eyebrow makeup.
Before I go on, there are different types of ways to fill in your eyebrows. There are eyebrow pencils (for a more precise look), eyebrow powders (for a more natural look), eyebrow gels, and eyebrow bristle things (I don’t know what they’re actually called but it looks like a mascara tube/wand but it’s for your brows!). I’ve used all 4 before, but I usually stick to the powders or bristle ones because I find they give me the most natural filled in look without looking too “precise” and “defined.” But… you do YOU. Experiment with different ones and see what look you like best! When applying, I find less is more (you can always add but if you’ve ever done your eyebrows too dark, you know what I’m talking about). Ok…. on to the favorites!
- 100% Pure Eyebrow Powder Gel: This is the one I’ve been using and really like it so far! You apply it with a slanted eyebrow brush. It’s somewhere in between really defined and super natural. I use the color “Taupe.”
- Honest Beauty Brow Filler: I haven’t tried this one, so I can’t speak from experience, but Honest Beauty has great makeup options and this one seems like a winner based on reviews! You can usually find Honest Beauty products at Ulta or Target!
- 100% Pure Green Tea Fiber Brown Builder: Another 100% Pure products (I love their stuff and they all get amazing reviews). This is the “bristle brush thing” I was referring to before. I used to use one like this from Ulta and LOVED it. If you’re new to filling in eyebrows, I recommend something like this because it’s super easy and pretty much foolproof and gives you that “natural” filled in look. This one got amazing reviews, too!
- Lily Lolo Eyebrow Duo: I’ve never used this brand, but I liked that it’s a duo with eyebrow powder and a wax!
So there are some to get you started! Some other “clean beauty” brands that might have eyebrow makeup include Mineral Fusion, Au Naturale, and Pacifica (these brands are sold at Whole Foods.)
If you try any of these, let me know how you like them!
